Documentation

“My family and I use the RIB in and around the Solent where the performance and handling are proving to be superb. It is dry, secure, fast and fun” – R.F.–  Hamble

The Island 7m series includes hull lengths of 6.9 to 7.5m, all vessels with a beam of 2.54m.

Designed not only to look good but to cope with extensive use in difficult conditions for many years, the Island 7m series offers a perfect balance between performance and practicality. The wide range of available options mean that this versatile platform can be adapted for many uses from commercial chase boat to family leisure RIB.

Our deep-V hull ensures responsive and predictable handling and a smooth ride. Fitted with moulded splashwell and full-height polycarbonate windscreen as standard, the 7m series will keep you dry even in difficult conditions.

Manufactured using only Lloyd’s approved GRP materials, 7m series RIBs are built with durability and reliability in mind. Our 7m series RIBs have been MCA type tested to Cat 3 (r), the maximum category possible for an open boat, and independently verified as RCD category B.

Features and options

All vessels in the 7m series can be manufactured with petrol outboard (single or twin) or diesel inboard engine.

Standard features include 1300gsm Hypalon tubes (full range of colours) with wear patches, rubbing strake and grab handles, anti-slip textured deck, foredeck mounted cleat, large fore locker, 220l stainless steel fuel tank and twin independent bilge pumps.

All 7m series RIBs are built with plenty of internal stowage: The moulded GRP splashwell provides three dry lockers with a total of more than 340l capacity and the large foredeck locker is fitted with a watertight Lewmar hatch.  All of our jockey seats are built with an access hatch.

We offer a wide range of seating options including single and double jockey seats, suspension seats and 2 or 4-person box seats.  Rear seating can be manufactured to be removable, enabling the operator to carry more passengers or cargo as required.

7m series RIBs can be manufactured with console or stern mounted stainless-steel A-frame or with stainless-steel bimini to offer some protection from the elements.   Fore and aft Sampson posts can be fitted for mooring and towing.

We offer a full range of cushions, covers, trailers and storage cradles.
